PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Rory McIlroy. Steve Stricker. Hunter Mahan. They all fell victim to TPC Sawgrass.

One name that flirted with that list after an opening 2-over 74 was Tiger Woods. But the former No. 1 mustered a 4-under 68 on Friday to move to the weekend at the Players Championship for the first time since 2009.

The funny thing is Tiger will probably move up to 6th maybe 5th in the world rankings after this tournament. Stricker #6 and Mahan #5 both missed the cut.

So Rickie is the guy now? LOL Are gonna tell us how you always knew he had it in him etc...? Are you enjoying the fact that Rory has missed the cut here 3 years in a row?

Fun fact. For all those who think Tiger is such a horrible golfer now, he's ranked #7 in the world. 3 of the 6 players ranked ahead of him missed the cut in this tournament.
