Authorities did not give details on what led them to call CPS, but said in a statement that such involvement is "common practice... in investigations regarding missing children."
Sources told ABC News that the change in custody does not mean that police are shifting the focus of their investigation to Sergio Celis.
Isabel is just under 4 feet tall, weighs approximately 44 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with any information about her disappearance or whereabouts is urged to call 520-88-CRIME.

The coverage of this case on TV and in the newspapers troubles me. I am not sure that the parents demeanor have anything to do with this case. I watched the coverage of Isabela on HLN and was angered by the many things they speculated about. It was utter nonsense especially the coverage by Nancy Grace. After a few days I stopped watching those programs and relied on other methods to try to obtain information.
I can't understand why the father is barred from seeing his boys or why he and the mother are separated. I guess we just have to wait and see what happens when the Police release the details of their imvestigation. Until then we can only pray that little Isabela is found and will be returned to her loving home. My prayers to you Little Isabella.

It sounds like they think they have something on Dad...this is soo not "common practice" if it were then Josh Powell never would have had visitation of his kids after his wife went missing to be able to kill them...and there was plenty of evidence to believe he played a roll in her being missing..somethings up

The powell case was mismanaged to the very last 911 call. You would think that the presence of child porn on his computer would have triggered action. Why that info wasn't sent to Washington is a mystery.

It is common practice to stop the father from visiting his children? I have never heard of this before. I thought this case was odd from the start, especially when the parents did not make a media statement until several days after Isabel went missing. They said they wanted the focus to be on Isabel and that is why they didn't say anything sooner. Scott Peterson said the same thing about why he didn't make media statements and you see how that turned out. I hate to judge but the mother in me says something is VERY wrong here.

Common practice? Who's house was the little girl abducted from? The mother's or the father's? If she was abducted from the mother's home, why is it that the father is denied the right to see his sons? This whole story has been shrouded in wierd mysteries and subdued statements from the very beginning. The parents took polygraph tests, but the police are not releasing the results, and now the sons are taken away from the father as "common practice?" In who's world? Standard practice is to take the children away from both parents unless there is something they are not telling the public. This whole story from the beginning is suspicious, and the police must think the public that they are reaching out to for help are idiots.

Arizona is sort of unique in that I know of many Arizonan fathers who were given custody in divorce cases. Not so in Utah, even if the mother was convicted of six counts of child neglect (personal experience here).

That makes better sense than how the article was written. Maybe it isnt the police giving vague information as much as it is the reporters writing the articles.

I do not know the Celis family, but I hate when the media begins to cast doubt on a family that is clearly suffering. Until there is proof that a family member is involved in this, please leave them alone, stop your speculating and simply hope that their daughter is found alive.

The dad brought the suspicion onto himself. His very calm demeanor and chuckle during the 911 call, not saying whether or not he passed the poly, barred from contact with the other kids.... all of these things together cause people to question his innocence.
