Chris Bosh Injury: Heat Star Out Indefinitely After MRI Confirms Strained Abdominal Muscle (VIDEO)

Chris Bosh Injury
Chris Bosh suffers an injury as the Miami Heat play the Indiana Pacers.

MIAMI -- The Miami Heat say Chris Bosh will be sidelined indefinitely because of a strained abdominal muscle.

An MRI exam performed Monday confirmed the diagnosis. Bosh was hurt late in the first half of the Heat's 95-86 victory over Indiana on Sunday in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Game 2 of the series is Tuesday night. Bosh's minutes will likely be filled by Joel Anthony and Ronny Turiaf, both of whom played extended stretches Sunday after Bosh departed.

The MRI results are saying he has a bifurcated vaginal meniscus and can expect to be out for 28 days.

Or until his next cycle.

Whichever comes first.

That's what ended my wrestling career. People who haven't had that injury don't know how painful it is, and how long it takes for it to heal. Hope he gets some good drugs to deal with the pain.

Crazy. Karma is a b****.. Gets you every time. Its not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!" -- LeBron James

WOW, this will be the year of asterisk for whoever is the champion.
* Not a full season
*Rose out
*Bosh out

I thinking I rather not have my team win this year, it will always be the asterisk team if they win.
09:37 AM on 05/15/2012
Unfortunately, if you look really closely, most champions could get an asterisk based on who was injured for the other guys. A few off the top of my head (no intentional Celtics bias, but these are the ones that stick out to this Celtics fan) :

85 - Bird, bursitis in his shooting elbow, injured left hand (rumored bar fight)
86 - vague memory of someone being out for the Lakers (Thompson?)
87 - Walton trying to recover from surgery, McHale, broken foot, something like five sprained ankles on the starting team
88 - Thomas, pulled hamstring
89 (I think) - Byron Scott pulled groin muscle.
08 - Bynum hurt
09 - Garnett hurt
10 - Perkins hurt
11 - Marquis Daniels hurt, Shaquille O'Neal, career-ending injury.
04:57 PM on 05/15/2012
Seriously? Daniels?, Thompson? Scott?,Perkins? Not exactly Rose, Bosh caliber. As for the rest which are legitimate arguments, which season was a short season? That does make a difference.

Ok, you're either 10 years old, a recluse troll hiding behind your computer in as dark, damp basement, or a spiteful hater. What we do know about you is that you are boring, juvenile and have NO creativity. Do you have any idea how many non-creative people have used that same worn out joke about LeBron flopping? If you're going to hate on one of the greatest players ever to play the game, we also know that you are not a basketball fan. Stick to tiddly wings. Or, next time come up with something really creative, unique and truly funny. Then maybe you can earn some respect. Right now, you are simply to simple to dismiss.

Keep doing your thing LeBron!

Lebron is a flopper. He's the best player in the NBA and he deserved his MVP award but that doesn't change the fact that he's a horrible flopper.

Considering the massacre OKC is laying on the Lakers, you might as well put them down as the champions this year. Bosh is the only one who can threaten OKC and open up lanes for Wade and Bosh. (Assuming they both play in the finals of course).

Is anyone here a medical expert? I would like to know what is the recovery time for this kind of injury.

Not a medical expert, but I have suffered from a lower abdominal strain. It's a terrible injury. It simply takes forever to heal. You simply have to rest. If you try to play thru it, like I did years ago, I never rested it enough and it took 11 months to heal. And if you try playing thru it after it gets better just a bit, you'll be at no more than 60%. It hurts like heck anytime you move.

Obviously, he'll be smarter than me and rest it completely. There is no way he's playing in the Indiana series. Even if the Heat beat the Pacers and the Celtivs v.Sixers series goes long (as it looks like it will), I'm doubting that he'd even be ready to play in that Conference Finals. I think that Heat fans can feel lucky if he plays in the NBA Finals (if they get there), which is about 1 month away.

They'll still take the Pacers, I think. And the C's. But they won't have a chance against the Thunder or the Spurs without Bosh.

Yeah, I agree. I think the Heat have enough to get past the Pacers and the Celtics or Sixers (don't sleep on the Sixers - series tied at 1). But without Bosh, they can't beat OKC or the Spurs. Even with Bosh, playing either of those teams would be an extremely tough challenge.

I think the Heat can handle Indiana without Bosh. But they'll need him for a likely series against the surprisingly strong Celtics. And if they manage to get past them, they will definitely need him for OKC or the Spurs.

It's over without Bosh.

Maybe. Maybe not. For my money, Lebron and DWade are two of the best three or four players in the NBA. That alone can take a team pretty far.

More pressure and minutes for Bron and Wade...this could be problematic if e Heat reach the finals and Bosh is still out. As great as This duo is, I doubt if they can beat the either the Thunder or Spurs.
