Obama Delivering Barnard College Commencement Address

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will spend Monday in New York City, and his comments in support of same-sex marriage appear likely to be a principal focus of discussion.

Obama is scheduled to deliver the commencement address at Barnard College, where he'll share the stage with Evan Wolfson, the founder of the pro-gay group Freedom to Marry.

Next, the president will tape an appearance on "The View."

After that he'll speak at two campaign events, including a major fundraiser with gay and Latino donors headlined by singer Ricky Martin, before returning to the White House.

It would be nice IF Obama shared HIS college records, financial aid data and papers he wrote during college, to everyone so we could truly (appropriately) appreciate His greatness. I mean His transition from lazy dope smoking druggie in high school to Harvard to POTUS has got to be an inspiring story for all....

Why won't He allow us to honor Him with everything He is due?

His personal history is such in inspiration to me and all the people I know. I think President Obama truly wants the best for everyone in the country. He respects women in all the roles they play in life and has appointed 2 women to the Supreme Court so he walks the walk not just talk the talk.

Serious question, why the need to insult those with whom you disagree? I feel that this was just another opportunity to pander to a specific group of people and keep the subject off of the economy and jobs, which college grads should be most concerned about right now. Mighty stark contrast between the Genius of Massachussetts mouthing off to the wild-eyed crazies at that fundamentalist "Harvard", Liberty University about an issue the Ancient Greeks considered to be perfectly normal and Obama speaking at such a venerated institution as Barnard. I'm listening to President Obama talk about his respect for women; his love and respect for his mother and grandmother. This is what we need to hear...respect for women...their abiities and contributions. This isn't pandering to women, it's recognition of their contributions to the American story. That was a magnificent and inspiring speech, no one can ever tell me that a man who came from nothing and rose up to defeat the odds doesn’t care and understand the people wants and desires, I believe that his heart and soul is with the nation as a whole and wants the very best for everyone, unlike GOP who wants to go back instead of forward in time.
