Remember Pres Bush's push to put Social Security into hands of Wall Street? Can you imagine the huge losses to Social Security when the economic collapse hit in 2007? Of course, putting SS into hands of Wall Street was only part of RepubLIEcans plans to "pay back" their Bandit Banker/Wall Street sociopaths lobby.

As it should be! This budget disproportionately places the weight of debt reduction on those least able to afford it, while reducing taxes on corporations and the wealthiest Americans. And a few trillion in Defense spending ABOVE what the DOD asked for!

Oh yeah, and if I hear one more proponent talking about helping those in need at the community level.....Tony Perkins, in defense of this budget, claimed that Churches can do ALL of what this budget would cut! My question to Mr. Perkins is this: If Churches have the capacity to offer these services THEN WHY THE HELL AREN'T THEY? I volunteer at a local Food Bank with less than five percent of the shelves full and demand beyond our ability to meet it. We end up turning people away. WHERE ARE THESE CHURCHES TONY? We HAD three soup kitchens in my city. All were Church run and THEY CLOSED TONY! Why? Because the Churches couldn't afford to keep them open when City, State and FEDERAL grants evaporated!!

Tony Perkins, Richard Land, Pat Robertson, and Franklin Graham are just examples of how the church no longer does what they preach. They have become the backbone of the republican party and nothing else. They no longer actually act on the words of Jesus, but have become hungry for power and control.

The type of "Christianity" now practiced by most churches in this country is completely corrupted. Preachers like the above plus most of the other pastors spend far more time telling people who they should scorn and hate and shouting "praise the lord, praise the lord - now be sure to give us a big donation for our building program . . . " than they do actually LIVING LIKE JESUS TOLD PEOPLE TO LIVE: "as you do for the least of these, you do to me; love your neighbor as yourself." American style Christianity is nothing more than a giant propaganda arm of RepubLIEcan/CONservative movement.

I share your sentiment. And it makes me sad. Because i'm 67 yrs old and was raised in Texas Republican family; became active adult Republican when Texas was mostly Democratic. But Republican Party vastly changed over my life-time, becoming unrecognizable - extremely radical right ,John Birch Society, very racist KKK type mentality with total religious zealousness. That's why i left party in the 1980's and became Independent Moderate - recently joined Democratic Party. Republicans now have no place for anyone who is Moderate. You not only need to be "Christian," but the right kind of "Christian." (I put Christian in quotes when referring to Republican "Christians" because they use religion for propaganda/fund-raising/keep their members under a religious heel - they DO NOT in any way shape or form follow how Jesus told them to actually live! They definitely don't act Christ-like, as true Christians are supposed to!) It is SAD to see what the RepubLIEcan Party morphed into!

paulie ryan's 'budget' (supported by roMONEY and every Republican in the House and Senate), jonnie robert's 'citizen's united' (supported by the same group) and the 'filibuster' (misused by Republicans for three years to stop reform on wall street). What the hell is happening to this country? People assemble and object to 'pay inequity' and the police run over the Constitution and nobodly seems to care. Help!!!!

My interpretation of the TP doctrine is that senior citizens are on the government dime, and are in the same class as public servants, the unemployed, and welfare queens. Shouldn't they be 'set free' of government dependency [many senior citizens depend on benefits to survive']?

For anyone who does not support this ideology, just do not vote for the TP ticket in 2012!

If this change to privatize Medicare is such a great thing then why is not proposed to be enacted immediately for today's seniors to enjoy the improved savings and quality, as well as tomorrow's seniors? I mean private health insurance is supposed to be Cadillac care as opposed to grungy ole' socialist single payer GOVERNMENT run Medicare... I'd think today's seniors would be demanding the same quality "Medicare" Paul Ryan and the GOP want to gift my generation with?

Those of us who are older than 54 aren't supposed to worry about having Medicare completely disabled for future generations? There are ways to fix the system that don't break it and I DO care what happens to those who come after me even if I'm protected under the existing plan.
