President Barack Obama’s decision in February 2011 to hold the Democratic National Convention in North Carolina looked like a bold move to reclaim a state he’d won in 2008. Today, it’s more like an awkward fit.

The convention should have never been scheduled to get held in a southern city. Ohio, Wisconsin or Michigan should have been the place to hold this and especially Michigan where the emphasis on Romney, who would have allowed the American auto industry to sink, could have been brought home even more so to the American public.

LOL, I live in Charlotte, and my husband is a cop of 28 yrs, and is on the riot squad.This convention is a joke. The crap the officers have to endure is ridicilous!!! They have bottles, homemade bombs,urine bags, feces,and rocks thrown on them. The terrorism threats and special interest groups will be protesting. It is not what a convention used to be. The security is going to be lacking!!!!! We are not even ready. Our town will be torn apart by some hate mongers.

I have a feeling both conventions are going to turn into real side shows. Given Florida's gun and stand and protect laws, there's no way I'd be near Tampa though the increased number of strippers of both sexes should be interesting. And NC now taken over by the banksters and baggers gives new definition to a B&B
