The service lets users capture, edit and share 15-second videos (in the same way one would share images on Instagram) and has grown from around 4 million users to about 26 million users in just under a month, thanks, in part, to the launch of its Facebook Timeline app back in February. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier in May that Viddy was adding somewhere around one million users per day.
The app has attracted the likes of Twitter cofounder Biz Stone and Colombian pop singer Shakira, who have chosen to invest in the app. Even Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is a fan of Viddy; he created his own account on April 30.
If you want to follow in Zuckerberg's footsteps and acquire your own Viddy account, simply visit the site, click on "Join," and follow the steps from there; you can link your Viddy account with Facebook or Twitter or sign up using your email address of choice and then download the app for free from Apple's iTunes store to start using it right away.
To help you get acquainted with this up-and-coming video-sharing app, we've compiled a list of some of the best people to follow on Viddy, courtesy of the app's "Featured" feed, which you can find on the site or on the mobile app. Browsing the Viddy blog is also a great way to find new users to follow.
