Aron Hughes' protest brought immediately to mind Sen. John Kerry's return of his service and combata ribbons in 1971 in protest of the Vietnam War as a returning war hero and veteran. Aron Hughes may be following the Senator's footsteps toward a promising political career and quite possibly our future president. You never know.

Interesting how Huff Post says "medals of honor" in small letters, and creates lots of stir. My first thought was this man is giving up "The Medal of Honor" WOW. There is NO "Medal of Honor" being given back. READ people before getting caught up in the emotional trap set, rather then hearing what this man is trying to saying.

You may disagree but at least understand what your disagree with.

Decorated Veteran, sorry but the young man is not a decorated veteran. His theatre medal and Army Commendation medal are basically acknowledgements he served. Medals for valor start with the Bronze Star with "V". The Soldiers Medal is awarded for non combat actions. This 60's antiwar BS is being promoted by the media. I am against this war but will not stoop to claim being or allow others to claim I am a decorated veteran. This guy has no class.

Uhmmm, not really "medals of honor" as DemocracyNow exhorts. They are candy medals given to all that served in the area. That being said, I do admire the man for his service and sacrifice.

A tired old song. NATO has brought nations together and protected the democracies of Western Europe against communism. If there had been no NATO, there might have been no more democracy, no free elections, no Huffington Post and no gay marriage, for example.

NATO are nothing but brick layers paving the way to a one world goverment. They are 90% funded and enforced by the U.S. , Yet they despise America... They tell us what to do, they tell us how we should think, take U.S. soil and give it to other nations and now they have even come to the point of telling Americans that our religion is wrong and we shouldn't own guns. The last time someone tried to take God and guns from America is sparked a war... Just something to think about.

Hope he is not like al gore who "said" he threw his medals (how he got them is another story ) over the fence at WH. Later he said, they were not medals just brass he had picked up.
But, at least, he invented the internet and that warming stuff.
