Finance Worker Sends Date Survey Asking For Thoughts, Improvements

The Huffington Post  |  By Posted: Updated: 05/17/2012 5:56 pm

There seem to be no shortage of hellish dating stories when it comes to romantic encounters with men in finance.

Remember the investment banker who pretended to be an Israeli spy, or the guy who listed his Match.com dates in an Excel spreadsheet?

Well, this guy might just take the cake.

According to an exclusive from Deadspin, a 24-year-old man named Michael went on a couple of dates with a lucky lady in Philadelphia. (We'll call her Carol.)

Once it became clear Michael and Carol weren't going to get hitched, the couple parted ways. And though Michael once shared his interest in "data collection" with his date, Carol never expected to find a particular email in her inbox.

Michael took it upon himself to send Carol a survey -- about himself.

He asked her to rank a multitude of attributes, including his appearance, manners and, yes, even his masculinity. And if that weren't enough, he also inquired about possible improvements.

The best part of the survey? The footnotes; definitely the footnotes. And the fact he provided free postage.

Head over to Deadspin to see screenshots of Michael's dating quiz.

I used to know a gal in Hotlanta that listed her Match.com associations in Excel format by Race, Religion, Size, Height, Weight, and Fortune, along with their hobbies.... not necessarily in that order. She was a Freecell addict as well.

He needs to work on his psychic skills for when he does get into a relationship. Women, never have more words been uttered and less said! They don't come out and tell you the problem, your supposed to figure it out! On their terms! If you really cared! So they say! Women have an expectations problem, they need to lower their standards just like men do or learn to enjoy being alone or a bar scene chew toy...

You would think so. But to answer his questions would make him less controllable by the next woman he dates.

Well you can't fix what you don't know is broken. I guess you gotta give the guy credit for having the cheek to ask.

As weird as this might come across, and how easy it is to make light of by virtue of some comments. Is it really wrong to strive for self improvement. You might think your shiat smells like roses, but does it really?

Michael,

Nothing wrong with wanting to know, especially if there are a string of 'Carol's' out there. There could be something Carol could teach you about yourself that would help you appreciate how you are perceived and give you some access and power in dealing with it. Don't rely too much on one person's opinion, though. I'm sure she's got her quirks too.

Ignore the haters.

Good idea Michael, now if you could send invitations out to former lady friends you may be able to get enough together for a focus group.
