'Grey's Anatomy' Finale: Bloody Season 8 Sneak Peek (VIDEO)

WATCH: First Look At The Graphic 'Grey's Anatomy' Finale

A big death is on its way to Seattle Grace, and last week's giant plane crash may have something to do with it.

The first six minutes of the Season 8 "Grey's Anatomy" finale, entitled "Flight" (airing on Thursday, May 17 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC), which has hit the internet, pick up after a plane, carrying Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Derek (Patrcik Dempsey), Cristina (Sandrah Oh), Lexie (Chyler Leigh), Mark (Eric Dane) and Arizona (Jessica Chapsaw), crashed into a forest.

Derek and Lexie are missing and Arizona is crying hysterically -- and it's not long before we see why. "I think we're all alive," she tells the bloodied pilot.

Although the blood and broken bones are terrifying, gruesome and devastating, the graphic sneak peek shouldn't come as much of a surprise to "Grey's Anatomy" fans.

Showrunner Shonda Rhimes previously told The Hollywood Reporter that one of the show's main characters would die in the finale and "Grey's" star Jesse Williams, who plays Jackson Avery, told HuffPost TV, "We're going to lose somebody that we love."

"It's a big death and it's fairly shocking," Rhimes told THR. "It was hard, it was hard to write, it was hard to listen to at the table read. It is a difficult thing to do and not done lightly. When one of your main characters dies, it always affects the heart and soul of the hospital."

Who do you think will die in the Season 8 finale of "Grey's Anatomy"? Let us know in the comments.

The gory "Grey's Anatomy" finale airs Thursday, May 17 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
