Tom Selleck On 'Blue Bloods' And 'Jesse Stone'

Post 50 actor Tom Selleck stopped by "CBS This Morning" to discuss his work on "Blue Bloods" and "Jesse Stone."

At 67, Selleck is portraying the role of Chief Jesse Stone in the CBS television movie "Jesse Stone: Benefit Of The Doubt." The movie, the eighth in its series, is set to air on May 20. Selleck also plays a police commissioner on the CBS drama "Blue Bloods."

Selleck discusses what has changed in television since his start on the 1980s show "Magnum P.I." and what types of characters he enjoys playing most. Watch the above video to find out what he said.

Love the Jesse Stone series but must say I liked it best in the beginning when his character was a bit darker. Will still tune in for this one - the role of the struggling alcoholic cop with a good heart is tailor-made for him. Keep them coming!

I like Tom Selleck, but find both of those shows to be pretty boring. They lack any sort of fresh and original angle that would set them apart from standard TV fair. If a show is going to stand out and rise above in today's market they have to have a really original premise and outstanding writing, neither of which I find present in these two shows.

This man does not age or he just looks great at whatever age he happens to be. Always plays an enjoyable character and in projects that have decent quality. A quality person. One of my favorite actors.
