Joe Scarborough threw some love Joe Biden's way on Thursday's "Morning Joe," praising the vice-president's ability to connect with working-class Americans.

The panel was discussing a fiery speech that Biden delivered in Youngstown, Ohio on Wednesday. The vice-president attacked Mitt Romney's career at Bain Capital, while talking about his own working-class upbringing.

Scarborough complimented Biden on Thursday, saying that he was one of the few people who could give a speech like that and be believable.

"I would say the populist stuff doesn't work, but it works with Biden because Biden, he feels it," the MSNBC remarked. "By the way, you look at all of these millionaires that run our country and then you look at his taxes every year, he's -- you know, he hasn't cashed in."

Later, both Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski dismissed the idea that there was "animosity" towards Biden for his comments on gay marriage, as contributor Mike Barnicle suggested.

"I don't believe it," Scarborough said. Brzezinski didn't either, saying, "[Biden's] the best thing they've got when it comes to politics."

"He really is," Scarborough agreed. Referring to the vice-president's speech, he continued, "This is really a message and it's the first time I've really heard anybody deliver it that well... and that is, [Romney] thinks his rich friends should play by a different set of rules."
