Divorce Sale: Woman Holds 'X-Husband Sale,' Spray Paints His Truck (PHOTOS)

Cheater2

Talk about airing your dirty laundry.

A Superior, WI woman caused a traffic jam earlier this week by holding an "X-husband" sale in her front yard, the Superior Telegram reported Wednesday. She placed signs reading "X-HUSBAND SALE" and "FREE" in front of her house accompanied by piles of her ex's belongings.

But what really stopped cars was the GMC Yukon SUV parked out front, its tires flat and its once-green exterior marred with the word "cheater" and various obscenities in bright-colored spray paint.

According to local radio station Mix 108, police arrived at the house around 4 p.m. and spoke with a woman inside. An hour later, the defaced SUV was towed from the driveway to keep traffic moving, but the piles of clothes, boxes, and other unwanted goods scattered across the front yard remained.

So what set off this post-split purging? According to court docs obtained by the Superior Telegram, the woman who lived at the address filed to divorce her husband last July. An unnamed neighbor told the paper that a group of people began preparing for the yard sale Tuesday afternoon, after the divorce had been finalized.

“It looked like they had a painting party,” the neighbor said. “She cleaned out her husband’s stuff.”

While she certainly made a statement, the woman could have have forgone the "FREE" sign altogether and made a buck off her ex's discarded items -- as other scorned spouses have done. Craigslist is a clearinghouse for people looking to rid themselves of their ex's junk, while sites like NeverLikedItAnyway.com allow the brokenhearted a forum to vent while purging.

She should have been charged with vandalism and/or destruction of private property.

That is one pissed off lady. She wanted to express her anger publicly without a death involved. It could have gone the other way. She vented and good for her. Nothing worse than a lowlife cheater. Hats off and thumbs up to this lady.

I think I would have foregone the public announcement and just sold everything I was legally entitled to sell. It's embarrassing and hurtful enough that your marriage failed.

It is extremely important for cheaters to convince themselves and everyone else that everyone cheats.

If you sell the stuff, sometimes you have to split the proceeds.....better to give it away.

LOL! Not so smart to act out of anger and destroy a cheating spouse's property but definitely smart to let the whole neighborhood know 'what' they have for a neighbor so they can look out for him... kind of like a cheater's neighborhood watch thing. Like it.
03:13 PM on 03/15/2013
bet the neighborhood knew what he was like B4 all this happened..

Women can do that all they want..but in the end...they do not have the legal right to do it..therefore they will be charged with stealing property, selling stolen property, and several other charges..so keep on doing that ladies!...it's the perfect way for your husband to drop you even further into a hole..dumb women..lol

She might have gotten in trouble for the car but maybe not if her name was also on it. As for the clothes and personal items. If he left them there when he moved out and the terms of the settlement gave her possession of the entire contents of the home, then she would be allowed to do whatever she likes with those items.

Many assumptions here.
12:41 PM on 04/12/2013
Are you saying that the husband wouldn't get in trouble if he did the same thing to her car or even to the home since his name is on them also? (just an assumption). I think it would depend if an insurance claim was filed for the damages. In my state one is entitled to your personal stuff.

That's why it is just best to walk away.. If the story is tru and it all went down the way she said it did, let go of the anger, make him pay via the court system, and just put it behind - move on. She will find somebody who appreciates her if it is mean't to be..

Can kind of understand why he cheated - these actions speak loudly as to what type of person she is- mean & cruel..

Only a man would blame the woman for why the guy cheated, lied and betrayed HER.

Single, aren't you?
07:23 PM on 03/14/2013
No I am not, and myself, or my wife for that matter, would never do the things you young people do today- You treat your lovers, your spouses like gutter trash, and in return you expect them to treat you well? Are you nuts!
If she has dirty laundry to air, it should be in front of a judge- Make him pay, but this? This is over the top. Do you really think you are hurting him by doing this stuff? Hell no, not if he is an adulterer. Go your separate ways, and find someone who will treat you with kindness. Be friends first B4 you put out.. See how he treats you B4 you let him bang you? You girls are way to easy & the men do not respect you!!

I was thinking the same thing - sort of...

Not a male so please don't bash me for having an opinion. I'm just a woman who was once so insecure and jealous that I can totally relate to the anguish and rage the woman felt; and have learned that you can't have those feelings inside if you want a healthy relationship.
12:19 PM on 03/16/2013
How could I bash you? On the contrary, I have a great deal of empathy for you, but you now seem secure and mature in your feelings and emotions.. You gotta love yourself B4 you can love others & if the "other" does not accept you for what you are, or tries to change you, they are the ones that have the problem - leave them and move on.
I wish you well in your endeavors. Pax
