I wanted to share a wonderful speech by my friend Maria Shriver from her daughter's graduation from my alma mater USC. There is wonderful wisdom in her words. She is right that all too often in our own lives we are not living in the moment, always for something tomorrow, next week or next year. So in Maria's words, I hope you will "pause" to watch her great commencement address. -- MTMarloThomas.com

I am in awe of you for the passion of your words and for showing us all who live on a treadmill that it is okay to hit the pause button. Thank you for showing us your feelings as a choked up proud mother. And, thank you for using two words that are not tweeted, messaged nor spoken enough - "blessed" and "pray."
Thank you for such a wonderful message. I have been clinically depressed since January. I saw that you attended your cousin's estranged wife's funeral. When you are depressed you are paralyzed. But I got help, got on medication, and learned the power of the pause. It has made all the difference in the world. The thoughts of suicide have stopped. The therapist--and you--have taught me the power of the power of the pause. Thank you for giving me a tool to help transform my life.
I am 55 years old. Through the power of the pause. I am changing my life one day at a time, and pressing the pause button.
Thank you.
