UPDATE: On June 18, the charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon was dropped against Patricia Wehr.
On Tuesday, a 40-year-old Florida dental assistant was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after a domestic dispute.
Patricia Wehr's weapon of choice to bring down her 200 pound male victim? This small, sharp-tipped conch shell, according to Port St. Lucie Police:
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call after Wehr and a male friend came home intoxicated after a night out drinking so Wehr come blow off some steam. She was stressed because she was due in court the following day for a battery charge, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by TC Palm.
The victim told police that the pair had a "great time," but upon returning home, a verbal argument turned physical. Wehr reportedly scratched him on the face with her nail, bit him on the ear, and grabbed the tiny conch shell and stabbed him four times in the shoulder.
The man fled to the living room where his shell wounds bled onto the couch cushions. When police arrived, Wehr was trying to wash the bloody evidence off the pillow.
Surprisingly, a seashell is not the oddest weapon of choice in recent news. A New York woman hit a cop in the forehead with a pink dildo in April.
The same month, in nearby New Jersey, a man attacked a utility worker with a Medieval mace-like weapon called a flail.
Earlier this month, a man used a used a blood-filled syringe to hold up a Baltimore pharmacy.
