G8 Summit: Obama Says Leaders In Agreement On Iran Nuclear Program

CAMP DAVID, Md., May 19 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Saturday leaders of the Group of Eight major economies are committed to continuing the current approach of sanctions, pressure and diplomatic discussions with Iran over its nuclear program.

"All of us are firmly committed to continuing with the approach of sanctions and pressure in combination with diplomatic discussions," he told reporters at the G8 meeting at the presidential retreat in Camp David.

"And our hope is that we can resolve this issue in a peaceful fashion that respects Iran's sovereignty and its rights in the international community, but also recognizes its responsibilities," he said.

A U.S. official said on Friday that the G8 leaders had agreed that Iran needs to disclose more about its nuclear ambitions.

Yeah and they are all in agreement that the U.S. come up with all the money and military to stop Iran. We have over 700 bases in 130 countries. We are broke and can no longer police the world. Why are we providing free military to wealthy Countries like Germany, Japan and others when they can afford their own Military. We are stupid. It is time we either demand payment for our services to these Nations or close those bases and bring our troops home. Instead we agree Iran is a danger and we will supply all the resources to combat it while everyone else saves their money and young people lives.

the regime has another problem heading its way in dealing with this Russian backed separatist which originally seperated former northen Azerbaijan and they must have got it wrong with Azarbaijan and not Azerbaijan which we don't know where it's located.

More wait and see, allowing Iran more time to get the BOMB.

Easy for the G8 to play the wait and see game, they must figure the other guy is going to get nuked first.

Some leadership on this issue would be nice to see one of these days---a real plan with real teeth would be nice and not allowing Iran to get the BOMB would also be nice to see.
