Kevin Olsen To Miami: Wayne Hills' Four-Star Class Of 2013 QB Commits To Hurricanes

Miami Lands Prized QB Recruit

By Dave Miller, National Football Post

Miami head coach Al Golden and his staff have landed a big commitment in the Class of 2013, as quarterback Kevin Olsen has pledged to attend school in Coral Gables.

The four-star Rivals.com pro-style signal-caller from Wayne Hills High School (Wayne, New Jersey) made his pledge to Golden and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Jedd Fisch on Friday morning, giving the Hurricanes a big offensive piece to their current recruiting cycle.

The 6-3, 195-pounder chose Miami over Wisconsin, and he also had scholarship offers from more than 20 FBS programs. Olsen, who is the younger brother of former Miami and current Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, is a top 10 national quarterback who completed 61 percent of his passes for 1,686 yards with 20 touchdowns and six interceptions in 2011 for a team that finished 11-1. He has a strong arm, can make all of the necessary throws and is underrated athletically moving out of the pocket.

Olsen is the seventh commitment for the Hurricanes in their 2013 class.
