These are cute.  But really, the most embarrassing one for me was in my 40's, when an ex and I kept emailing and talking about it.  My then 20-something son said, "Are you still breaking up with so-n-so?"

I learned that day how to end stuff.  lol*

When I was in the Air Force (20 years old) I got really sick with serious strep throat, high fever and mononucleosis which put me in the hospital for a couple of weeks. So during my stay I felt like death was hanging over me, it was a horrible time. My then girlfriend came into the hospital with a note, put it on my bed and refused to talk with me, even though I was feeling the worst in my life. She told me she didn't want a "situation" and walked out. To make matters worse the note told me she was now seeing my current roommate!

That was pretty bad, but once I made recovery I met another woman and moved on.

My only long term relationship ended with a fight over a Nintendo game. Seriously. Mario Kart. But of course, later I found out he was cheating on me with a chick at work who he took to our supposed future honeymoon spot, Prague, about 3 months later, and then married. Thanks for the memories!

Back in my 20s, I had the breakup for no reason, several times. I think that's the most common. Also, I had a version of the breakup on my birthday. Actually, the breakup on my birthday was a no-show for dinner, and then a breakup the day after.

I'd don't recommend coming home from work and finding the wife and all her crap gone. Very painful. Though the experience has prevented me from ever considering a 2nd marriage.

My nephew just got dumped by his girlfriend with the Facebook status change. She went from in a relationship to single and then wouldn't take his calls for a day or two. The sad part is that she just left for basic training a few months ago and was all panicky that he would dump her while she was gone.

My girl friend dumped me a few years ago. She was driving her car and I was seated next to her. She suddenly stopped in a very narrow street and quietly said: " je n'ai plus envie". That's French for : I have lost appetite. Her appetite for me had gone. At this very moment, I was the dumped food. How about changing his relationship status on Facebook (to include his new girlfriend) three weeks before he told me he was moving out? I think he was hoping I would see it and throw him out so he could justify leaving our marriage for her!
