Whether it was Buffy the Vampire Slayer's protector-cataloguer Rupert Giles or Noah Wyle's swashbuckling character in the The Librarian series, bibliothecaries have managed to make a name for themselves in pop culture.
And today, they've further expanded their sphere of influence as the subject of the catchy Twitter hashtag game #replaceawordwithlibrarian.
Like its predecessors, the game's premise is simple: replace one word in a well-known phrase with "librarian," and see what happens.
Since the hashtag first began generating buzz, Twitter users have created hundreds of bookish new worlds with amended lines from movies, books, television shows and more.
