Celebs Wearing White: See Stars Embrace The Hot Summer Trend (PHOTOS)

Even if you're stuck at home, even if you didn't make it to the beach, even if your friends are all getting tan while you're not... you still get one great perk out of Memorial Day: you can now wear white again!

While we're not religious adherents to the "white only after Memorial Day" rule, we do get excited over whipping out our pristine summer threads for the holiday weekend. You can wear those white jeans proudly, embrace that white blazer, maybe even break out some new Keds or (if you dare) test-drive a white leather bag.

I like the look of white during the summer, but in my opinion, you have to pick the style carefully. A completely white outfit can look too much like a uniform.

Just do not wear white shoes in San Francisco. This is never done -- except for the tourists. Well, maybe sneakers or running shoes, but never dress shoes. Also, summer tourists -- note that San Francisco is cool in the Summer. Come with fleece and parkas. Hoodies. Avoid shorts. It will probably be too cold for sandals. Bring warm socks. We warm up again in September through November -- and usually into December.

Small white T-shirts that are too short with rolled up sleeves expose my ultra-white belly and muscular Popeye shaped deeply tanned arms with anchor tattoos. That really makes most woman sick, especially if they're under 40.

I was a nurse in the old days and slways had to wear white.
I used to hate white. Now that I no longer nurse I wear white
anytime I want to.
