John Mayer fell off the grid for a few years, but after an enlightening road trip through the heart of America -- where he picked up a rather large sombrero/fedora (or "sombrora") along the way -- the singer released the music video for his latest single, "Shadow Days."
In the Americana-soaked video, Mayer takes a tour through the frontier states with his six string by his side. But Mayer isn't the only musician to embrace nostalgia for the United States: From Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zero's "Home" to Dave Matthews Band's "American Baby" and Alison Krauss & Union Station's "Paper Airplane," Americana music videos are the perfect way to celebrate your Memorial Day.
And then there's Miley Cyrus. No, she's not as classically Americana-y as Johnny Cash and Neil Young, but she did release a song called "Party in the U.S.A.", and it did feature a giant American flag. (Jay-Z and Kayne West also rocked an American flag in their video for "Otis".)
