With a little more than a week to go until Wisconsin's gubernatorial recall election, a national tea party group on Monday released a TV ad in which the son of President Ronald Reagan invokes the memory of his father while giving his strong support to Gov. Scott Walker.

Reagan was president of the screen actors guild (the actor's union). All of these RepubliBillys are union supporters when it suits them monetarily and it always does until they become politicians or a member of the upper 1%.

Ronald Reagan may have been a good person but his presidency was disastrous for this country and his administration the most corupt on record. So I guess, after all, Michael Reagan's support is appropriate, after all.

The rightwing has created this little mythical fantasty about the Reagan. Those who actually LOOK at real history, will recall the absolute foreign policy debacle it was. Some of the hilights:

- Overtly Armed Iraq
- Covertly Armed Iran
- Allowed the UN to condemn Isreal without a US veto
- Negotiated with terrorists for the TWA hostages
- Facilitated the sale of binary chemical weapons components to Saddam, KNOWING he would use them
- Sold AWACS technology to a nation that does NOT recognize Isreal
- Sent US Marines into harm's way, without a plan, then pulled out after nearly 300 were killed (made Somalia look like a cakewalk)
And my personal favorte
- Set up, equipped, and funded the Bin Laden network in Afghanistan to fight the Soviets

Oh yeah, such wonderful times. I truly wish the far rightwing would HONESTLY look at the Reagan era. It was a disaster.

Why Scott Walker Must Go: the Endless Parade of Lies

Under questioning from other members of the committee (especially Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley), however, Walker admitted that many of the moves he initiated had no real impact on the state budget.
They did have the impact of weakening unions in the workplace and in the politics of the state, however.
It was in that context that Congressman Gerry Connolly, D-Virginia, pressed Walker on the matter of political intentions.
“Have you ever had a conversation with respect to your actions in Wisconsin and using them to punish members of the opposition party and their [union] donor base?
“No,” replied Walker.
“Never had such a conversation?” Connolly pressed.
“No,” said Walker.

The videotape from several months earlier, in which Walker speaks at length with his most generous campaign donor, suggests a very different answer to the questions from Murphy and Connolly. Indeed, the videotape shows Walker having just such a conversation.
