Brooklyn Cyclones To Host 'Williamsburg Night,' Invite Hipsters To Coney Island Stadium

Brooklyn Cyclones To Hold Hipster-Themed 'Williamsburg Night'

The Brooklyn Cyclones, New York's beloved Coney Island-based minor league baseball team, are devoting a game to the city's most hipster-y hood.

At "Williamsburg Night," the bearded will receive "special vouchers" and those in skinny jeans will get a chance to wiggle their way around the bases of Coney Island Stadium.

The Cyclones marketing team came up with the themed evening, set for July 5, in hopes that they can successfully lure Williamsburg residents with skee-ball, music, and art.

Hardcore hipsters who happen to have a Cyclones tattoo will get a customized Cyclones jersey.

"Williamsburg Night" isn't the first marketing ploy for the team. Following Christina Aguilera's less than stellar National Anthem performance at the Super Bowl in 2011, the Cyclones extended an invitation to Aguilera offering a second chance to perform the tune correctly.

The team also celebrated "Bellies & Baseball: A Salute to Pregnancy," requesting the pleasure of expecting parents to the stadium for an assortment of pregnancy-themed activities.

Plus, sometimes they fire those t-shirt cannons. Minor league baseball is just the best.
