The networks have announced 39 new series for the 2012-2013 TV season. Of those 39, only seven shows feature Latino actors, and only one show (NBC's quirky comedy "Animal Practice"), features a Latino actor (Cuban-American actress, JoAnna Garcia Swisher) in a lead role.
Given the lack of Latino talent in front of the camera on TV this fall, there's no question that this is "a disappointing television season for the Latino community," as Janet Murguia, National Council of La Raza President, said in a recent blog for HuffPost.
So where can you catch Latino stars on TV this fall? On returning shows! From "Grey's Anatomy" to "Revenge" to "The Vampire Diaries" and "Dexter," Latinos are a part of just about every great primetime show that'll be back for another season in September.

Even if they are half Latinos, then they are Latinos....sort of like Obama...is he black or white? What makes Latinos a Latino? Language, food, music...ect. There are plenty of Americans living abroad (let's say France) whose children though they speak french (better than English), listen to french music and eat french food, their parents would not consider them French. So to say that someone whose heritage is partly of a certain ethnic group is not a inherent part of them is denying them their roots. Is Al Pacino white or Italian (at one point in American history, he would have never been considered white) so all this labeling is a way to continue this asinine ethnic labeling routine and for the HP to have something to write about that has absolutely no substance.
