Archery: Hollywood's Favorite Sport In 'The Hunger Games,' 'The Avengers,' And More

2012's biggest box office star isn't a hunky celebrity or a blonde bombshell -- it's the bow and arrow. Suddenly, everyone, from princesses to superheroes to hobbits, is picking up the sport of archery on-screen.

The trend is building steam off-screen, too. "All of a sudden sales of bows have, like, tripled," Paul Haines, a salesman at the Ramsey Outdoor store in Paramus, N.J. told the Associated Press last month.

"Katniss is so inspiring," 12-year-old Gabby Lee, who took up archery lessons after reading The Hunger Games, told Boston.com. "It feels really good because I'm usually the girl who sits and reads."

Here are five blockbusters featuring bow and arrows as their weapon-of-choice this year. Which 'archer' is your favorite? Sound off in the comments below or tweet your thoughts to @HuffPostTeen!
