Can you believe June is here already?

With another season set to begin, the Chicago area has a host of pets just waiting for their chance to be taken into a forever home. Continuing our ongoing partnership with a number of area shelters, we have picked out a couple handfuls of adorable, adoptable animals.

Scroll down to check out photos of Chicagoland cats, dogs and other pets that are currently up for adoption at a number of Chicagoland shelters.

If this slideshow doesn't satisfy your cute animal fix, be sure to check out past features linked below the gallery either by scrolling down or clicking here. Many of the previously featured animals remain homeless -- those whom we've heard have already been adopted are noted with a "Spoken For!" tag.
