Julius Price, Keith Gunn Arrested In Connection With Guardian Angels Stabbing (VIDEO)

2 Arrested, Charged In Guardian Angels Stabbing

Police have arrested a second suspect in the CTA Red Line robbery where four members of a volunteer community patrol group were stabbed.

Four members of the Guardian Angels, who identify themselves with red berets, were stabbed last month while intervening in an armed robbery at the Clark and Division Red Line stop.

Julius Price, 23, was charged at 2 a.m. Sunday with four counts of aggravated battery and use of a deadly weapon, according to the Chicago Tribune. Also arrested is Keith Gunn, 34, accused of armed robbery and aggravated battery in the attack.

According to prosecutors, Gunn allegedly hit a 27-year-old male train passenger several times with his gun and snatched his iPhone. Four Guardian Angels waiting on the platform to board the train witnessed the attack.

One Angel grabbed the robber's arm in the incident, but he was able to break away and head toward the station turnstile. There, three other Angels took down the robber, but a male accomplice approached them from behind, pulled out a knife and hit and stabbed them.

The suspects' faces were captured by a security camera on the platform, and police released the photos in the hopes of generating information that will lead to an arrest. Witnesses positively identified Price as one of the men involved in the attack.

The men were wounded on their arms, and one also sustained an injury to his head. One Angel's injuries required 17 stitches before all four were released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The victims returned to their patrols the following evening.
