"Perks of Being a Wallflower" represents Emma Watson's first big post-"Harry Potter" role, and the erstwhile Hermione helped debut the first trailer for the film before Sunday's MTV Movie Awards.
Watson, who had a small appearance in 2011's "My Week With Marilyn" and leads Sofia Coppola's "Bling Ring," stars as a high school senior who -- with the help of her flamboyant stepbrother (Ezra Miller) -- guides a young freshman (Logan Lerman) through the perils of high school.
The film is based on the popular coming-of-age novel of the same name from author Stephen Chbosky, who also wrote and directed the big-screen adaptation.
Paul Rudd, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott, Mae Whitman and Melanie Lynsky also co-star.
Watch the new trailer above; "Perks of Being a Wallflower" opens in theaters on Sept. 14.
