Undocumented Grad's Future Hangs In The Balance

South Cobb, GA Patch:

OUTSIDE ATLANTA, GA -- Jesus Cruz found a small bit of relief last month when an immigration judge in Atlanta granted the undocumented graduate of Mableton’s Pebblebrook High another two months in the United States. “I don’t want to go to Mexico because this is my home,” Cruz told Patch in May.

I didn’t notice that you alluded to 2005 dollars, that’s why I posted the rough equivalent in today’s dollars; it wasn’t meant to evaluate the quality of the “transaction”, nor was it part of an argument. But since I’m typing, I think Mexicans/Hispanics are very lucky because they are getting “their country” back without firing a shot—they just saturate US (U.S.) with illegal/undocumented persons.

The $15 million sale is a moot point; after all, the U.S. government is relinquishing its land by allowing “excessive immigration”, along with its “melting pot philosophy”, diversity and common language:

Germany was “taken over” by the U.S./allies in 1945 and things worked out OK for Germany after that. How do you think it would work out for the U.S. if Mexican citizens become the majority in the U.S.?

Our society’s survival should be predominating and its history of ownership is, for practical purposes, meaningless.

He (Jesus Cruz/Rolando Zentano) was brought here illegally and took advantage of our “social services”. He:

1) didn’t respect our laws and refused to get a driver’s license or 2) knew he was illegal and wanted to stay below law enforcement’s radar.

This kid entered the country illegally, consciously or unwillingly. Now he appears to be making every effort to garner all the pity possible in order to benefit from his mother’s illegal act (bringing him into the country illegally). As an extreme example: if a bank robber (illegal act) couldn’t spend the money he stole, should the robber’s son be able to spend his father’s ill-gotten gains?

Can a drug dealer (illegal) sue another drug dealer (also illegal) for lack of payment? No, because the dealer(s) have “unclean hands”. Similarly, Jesus/Rolando has unclean hands and shouldn’t be able to benefit from our system.

As it pertains to “native Americans”, I’m sympathetic with the apparent poor quality of life experienced by some southwest Indians but I have little sympathy for several other tribes because they:

Operate their own casinos yet still collect U.S. government “welfare benefits”.

Sell gasoline to non-Indians on their reservation but don’t collect the required taxes.

Use tribal land to smuggle millions of dollars of drugs and cigarettes.

I'm just loving the fact that if you change the name it doesn't seem like a crime. Illegal Alien is now a undocumented immigrate. Does that mean he just misplaced his paperwork? Or does that mean he committed a crime of unlawful entry?

Sure thing. Shoot, Timmy.

A person that ignores our immigration laws wants to be an immigration attorney? That's funny. Plus, his memory must be horrible if he can't recall anything from a country he left just 6 years ago.

His obvious lack of respect for Americans laws, combined with his sense of entitlement AS AN ILLEGAL ALIEN is pathetic.

He should be eating a stale sandwich in the back of an ICE van on the way to the Mexican border.

He needs to be deported...and so does his mother and sister. Everyone who thinks so should contact ICE and say so.

I don't want to sound insensitive, but why is the fact that this young man has a high school diploma material to the issue?

Unlicensed drivers are 4x more likely to leave the scene of an accident without rendering help or report the accident. Being illegal in the U.S. is already unlawful, disregarding our vehicle codes by driving without a license (likely without insurance either), aggrevates his unlawfulness. Deport him!

'President Barack Obama said in October 2011 that deportation cases would be heard on a case-by-case basis and that non-criminal or "low-priority" undocumented residents would be eligible for permanent residency and work permits.'

But he is a criminal. He was stopped for driving without a license. That is a crime, hence he is a criminal.

'“The local field office in Atlanta is not following that order (of the Morton Memo),” Moreno said. “If we were in a different city, this case probably would have already been closed.”'

Yes they are. He is a criminal and thus the Morton Memo does not place him in the low priority catagory.

And he has only been in the US since he was 12. 2/3rds of his life was spent in Mexico.

I think his Mom should go with him to translate and to pay her dues.
What if I pulled this in Canada or Mexico? I'm sure they would be nice, give me a couple of months, and the change their laws to accomodate my whims....yeah, right. There are immigration laws for more than just a numbers game. It's economics and stability. If Mexico is THAT BAD, the citizens need to fix it through revolution or the vote. We did and do.

We 'fixed' this country by revolution and the vote. Did our revolution and vote FIX the problems of those folks from whom we STOLE this country???

If the people who lived in this country, the Native Americans, had actually been a country instead of disparate tribes fighting among themselves, then this country wouldn't have been "stolen". You might also note that the Spanish were the earliest thieves here--St. Augustine, FL, is the oldest European settlement in the continental US and was established by the Spanish, who raped, pillaged and stole from the Natives, just as they did in CA, the American SW, and Latin America.

Sad story...now deport the criminal.

So this guy leaves Mexico at 12 and has NO memory of it and cannot speak Spanish? I wonder HOW he ever graduated from high school then, if his memory is so short. Hell I can remember my fourth grade teachers name and I am 66 years old. Of course, she also had a cute daughter too which might be why I remember her.

Kudos!!

The HP Sympathy Factor touted for illegals ~ just not resonating w/U.S. Taxpayers.

illegal = illegal, how hard is that to understand?

Reparations for illegals ~ should be sought from those responsible for their plight ~ rather than from the U.S. Taxpayer.

And WHAT reparations have the 'legal citizens' of this country given to the original PURE AMERICAN PEOPLE from whom we stole this land - after murdering their women and children with impunity?

How quickly and conveniently we forget!
