Meet The New 'Hannibal'

Mads Mikkelsen has been cast as the title character in NBC's upcoming drama series "Hannibal," Deadline reports.

In the 13-episode series from Bryan Fuller ("Pushing Daisies," "Dead Like Me"), Mikkelsen will make his U.S. TV debut opposite Hugh Dancy's FBI agent Will Graham. In "Hannibal," Graham is a criminal profiler on the hunt for a serial killer. He enlists the help of Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mikkelsen) and his psychiatric mind, according to Deadline.

The Danish-born Mikkelsen has scored the role of the villain in "Thor 2" and won the Best Actor prize at the Cannes Film Festival for "The Hunt."

In other casting news...

Joe Jonas and Nelly have been cast as mentors on "The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep." The rapper and singer join The CW's music competition show alongside Gloria Estefan and John Rich. "The Next" will center on a search for up and coming artists, with the show's mentors traveling all over the country to immerse themselves in the culture of performers. [THR]

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" has locked up original cast member Eric Szmanda for Season 13. Szmanda, who plays Greg Sanders, has inked a new deal to return to the CBS procedural. He's been with the series since it premiered in 2000. [THR]

Victor Webster has joined the cast of "White Collar." The "Castle" vet is set to play Eric Dunham, a Wall Street trader who has "the demeanor of Alec Baldwin in 'Glengarry Glen Ross' and the build of young Sylvester Stallone." [TVLine]

Ralph Macchio has been tapped to star in Lifetime's "Holiday Spin." The actor will star in the Christmas-themed drama as a father who attempts to run a famed danced studio while trying to get along with his rebellious teenage son, played by Garrett Clayton. [THR]

Brian White will guest star on "Burn Notice." The "Men Of A Certain Age" actor will appear in an upcoming episode of the USA series as Agent Woods, a hard-edged FBI agent who has "devoted much of his career to bringing down a ruthless Boston Mob syndicate." [EW]

Frances Conroy and John Doe are headed to Lifetime's June Carter Cash biopic. Conroy is set to play June's mother Maybelle Carter, while "X" actor John Doe will portray June's uncle, A.P. Carter. [THR]
