Slow-Motion Skateboarding Video Shows Tricks At 1,000 Frames Per Second (WATCH)

Unbelievable Skateboarding Tricks In SUPER Slow Motion (VIDEO)

Making the familiar look beautifully unfamiliar, a new viral video shows that skateboarding really is an art. In an amazing two-and-a-half minutes of slow-motion kickflips, hardflips and 360s -- and even a mind-blowing "Merlin twist" -- the video by Adam Shomsky highlights the immense amount of skill required to execute skateboarding's most challenging tricks. Filmed in super slow motion at 1,000 frames per second with a high-speed camera, both the tricks recorded and the recording itself are impressive and beautiful. Check out the video above -- which has racked up over 700,000 views in the two weeks since it was posted -- to see for yourself.

In other artful slow-motion videos, a stunning recording of two dancers from Staatsballett Berlin performing jumps at 1,000 frames per second, complete with Radiohead playing in the background, went viral in April. Another gorgeous video of the world slowed down, created by Fluke Corporation, depicts the intricate vibrations of a cymbal being hit by a drumstick. Watch the two videos below and be amazed.
