Cat Thief In Minnesota Caught On Tape

CAUGHT ON TAPE: Kitten Thief At Work

Modern technology has indicted yet another kitty criminal.

A security camera caught an unidentified woman stealing a cat out of a cage in Shakopee, Minn. The camera shows the alleged thief, sporting a blue-and-white baseball-style shirt, in a deserted aisle of a Petland pet store. The woman looks around to see if she is being spotted before she attempts to commit the kitty heist.

The cat is an 8-week-old Persian that was part of a litter dropped off at the pet store for rescue, the Associated Press reported.

Police are now trying to track down the perpetrator of the cat crime.

Cats have been in the news quite a lot in recent years. In February 2011, Swiss feline "Dusty" -- dubbed the "Klepto cat" -- went on a stealing spree, snagging over 100 items, including underwear and badminton shuttlecocks. In September 2011, the Aussie Train Cat was known for routinely waiting for his owner at a commuter railway platform.
