Crossroads GPS Launches $7 Million Ad Buy Hitting Obama On Debt, The Economy

Posted: Updated:

The GOP-aligned group Crossroads GPS has spent $7 million to air a new ad attacking President Barack Obama for "growing our debt faster than our economy."

The ad, called "Stopwatch," begins airing in 10 states on Tuesday night. It is part of a $25 million effort to focus national attention on jobs, the economy, taxes and debt.

Conceived by the advocacy arm of the Karl Rove-founded super PAC American Crossroads, the ad warns viewers that "in the seconds it takes to watch this, our national debt will increase 1.4 million," and hits Obama for his "reckless spending."

The ad will run for two weeks in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
