Kelly Ripa sat down with Olivia Culpo, the newly crowned Miss USA, on "Live! with Kelly" (weekdays syndicated) to discuss her future plans and learn a few tricks.
Regarding Culpo's win, Ripa remarked that her husband, Mark Consuelos, knew she was the front-runner from the beginning of the competition.
“You walked out and my husband said, 'That's her. She's going to win.' He knew right away,” Ripa told the Miss Rhode Island representative.
However, Culpo was not as confident from the outset as Ripa's husband about her ability to win.
"I didn't even think I would make the top 16," Culpo said. "You sit there and you're just thinking everybody's so beautiful, inside and outside, and you wonder how they choose because everybody really is just awesome.”
When Ripa brought up how impossible it was not to jiggle while waking in a bikini and high heels, Culpo, who will head to Miss Universe, showed Ripa how she learned to walk.
“You really have to just lead with your hips,” Culpo said as Ripa tried to follow. "Keep your arms behind you."
Ripa finally gave up in her effort to walk like a pageant queen. "I’m the friend at the bar. ‘Who’s your friend. Is she single?’” Ripa joked.
The Miss Universe pageant will be in December 2012.
