Tommy Lasorda Heart Attack: Dodgers Icon Hospitalized In New York

Beloved baseball figure Tommy Lasorda suffered a heart attack on Monday, as TMZ first reported. The Los Angeles Dodgers confirmed the report, indicating that Lasorda was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.

As many were tweeting wishes for a speedy recovery, MLB.com reporter Joey Nowak tweeted that Lasorda may not have been feeling well during an event on Monday.

The longtime manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lasorda was in New York for the 2012 MLB Draft. He tweeted from the New York Stock Exchange on Monday morning.

The 84-year-old Lasorda is the Special Advisor to the Chairman for the Dodgers.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers say longtime manager Tom Lasorda has been hospitalized after having what the team called a "mild" heart attack.

The Dodgers said Tuesday that Lasorda was in a New York hospital. The 84-year-old Hall of Famer became ill Monday while in town to represent the club at the Major League Baseball draft.

TMZ first reported Lasorda's condition and said the plan was for him to return home Wednesday.

He's awesome. I remember when the American team won the Olympic gold medal under him, and I remember thinking at the time, and still do, what an awesome experience it would have been to not only win the gold medal, but to also win it with Tommy Lasorda leading the team. Wishes for a quick recovery.

In America we praise people for good work, such as Tommy's, unlike Britain where they shower people who have done nothing, such as their phony monarchy, with praise. Seems very logical to do that.

“What’s my opinion of my condition?” Lasorda said. “What the (expletive) do you think my opinion is of it? I think it was (expletive). Put that in. I don’t (expletive) care. What’s my opinion of the heart attack? (expletive). I am in town representing the Dodgers and I am at an all you can eat (expletive) buffet.

What the (expletive) do you mean, ‘What is my opinion of the heart attack?’ How can you ask me a question like that? I’m (expletive) off to fail to finish my (expletive) dinner, and you ask me my opinion of the heart attack?”

I can tell you after meeting him a numerous times, he is in my opinion the world's biggest a****** by a long shot. He is beyond rude and goes out of his way to put a show on for the camera. I'm sure many other people can attest to this.
