Chicago's newest Gold Coast rooftop hot spot, located atop the historic Raffaello Hotel, is slated to open to the public Friday.

Drumbar, to be run by esteemed The Underground mixologist and operator Benjamin Newby, occupies the 18th floor of the hotel and features both a decadent interior lounge area and a 1,500-square-foot rooftop terrace where guests can enjoy their cocktail menu and small plates from Chef Mauro Mafrici's Pelago while also enjoying a killer view.

And, contrary to its 200-feet-in-the-air dwellings, the bar will have a speakeasy feel to it with a beverage program centered on whiskeys, bourbons and scotches. Among its current drink menu is a summery Rose cocktail comprising Nolet’s gin, lemon juice, Aperol, simple syrup and Fentimans Rose Lemonade.

Drumbar opens Friday at the Raffaello Hotel, 201 E. Delaware Place.
