And now it seems the Biebs is adding a touch of rebel spirit to his wardrobe, too. The 18-year-old singer left a London BBC radio station on Wednesday morning wearing a sparkly accessory designed to look like a human skull -- a far cry from his more innocuous Christmas sweaters.
So, Biebs... is that a McQueen-designed Kleenex? A bandanna for a ghost cowboy? Or maybe he is just jumping on the trend train and going Goth.

Sigh. It is not "jealousy" when you comment that an individual's success is more a result of marketing strategy involving image-making than talent. That is, unfortunately, the case with far too many of the most recent crop of "Star Singers". Somewhat dubious "Style" over very little substance is the key to making it in the current music world, and selling out concerts. There were male students in my son's middle school theater group who are more attractive, and ten times the singer, that Justin Beiber (not my son, btw), and a few females who would make Taylor Swift, Rhianna, and Beyonce hang their heads in shame. It's all marketing, Image, push, and being in the right place at the right time.
I do not "hate" Justin Beiber...but he certainly is a complete bore. He isn't such a child anymore...he's 18. I don't really get the whole "being taught swagger", if you don't have something like that naturally, perhaps you shouldn't boast about having an "attitude instructor"? His seemingly deliberate associations with "bad boys" is a bit desperate too.
No, people, every kid does not act like this...rich or poor or in between, part of the machine (he is not self-made) or truly self-made. Some kids have the sense not to act like complete idiots, even at eighteen. That's adulthood. Voting, fighting, marrying, working, paying taxes. Growing up. Maturing. Musicians used to have to do this. Now the Stars are all Divas.

Of course, you entirely missed my point, while making it for me, which I do appreciate. Thank you for clarifying the obvious. He is a product of technology. Little talent, little effort. His attitude is the product of coaches his promoters hire in an attempt to maintain his popularity as he grows older. So are his associations. His revelations of "bad behavior" are released as necessary to give the impression that he's The Man now, not just the boy.
I am not jealous, and he can laugh if he cares to...but I don't think he is. A lot of them don't. That's why they crash and burn. You cannot be that Child Star forever. I am not wishing a fall on him. I was responding to the typical comment that "all kids behave like this", and "he's worked so hard". No, they don't...and no, he hasn't. He's been marketed, and I don't think he has the chops to take it beyond being a tween fan-toy-boy...and beloved of Beiber-Moms.
But expecting actual mature and thinking discourse when it comes to celebrities is probably too much.

I saw this 18 year old perform on The Voice, and I just didn't get it. He seemed like an average teenager out there trying to perform as someone much younger.
Here's some young talent: Paul McCartney began practicing with John Lennon at the age of 15. George Harrison was filling in at the age of 14. McCartney was the same age as Bieber (18) when the band started performing under the name "The Beatles".
