'Rizzoli & Isles' Premiere Flashes Back To When The Women First Met (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

The third season of "Rizzoli & Isles" kicked off with a fun peek back to when the ladies first met. Jane Rizzoli was working undercover as a prostitute when Maura Isles first met her.

When Maura tried to be nice to her, Jane retorted, "Not every hooker has a heart of gold."

This flashback mirrored the not-so-friendly status of the title characters' friendship in this opening episode. Granted, Jane shot Maura's biological father, and that's a hard thing to get over. Even if he did admit to his daughter that he would have shot Jane if given the chance.

It was certainly unusual seeing the pair on the outs, but it's unlikely to last forever. Having Maura's father live gives her the chance to work through her feelings about that, and will probably make it easier for her to move past the fact that her best friend shot her father.

Watch the healing begin on "Rizzoli & Isles," Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
