Natalie Portman has done it all: She's won an Oscar (for 2011's "Black Swan"), mothered a chld and even starred in an extremely viral rap video.

But back in 1993, Portman was just an ambitious 11-year-old trying to make it in the acting world. She tried out for "Leon: The Professional" in New York, nailed the audition and went on to star alongside Gary Oldman and Jean Reno in the Luc Besson film.

The movie proved to be a smart start for Portman, whose next film was 1995's "Heat," directed by Michael Mann and starring Al Pacino, Val Kilmer and Robert DeNiro. Not bad, kid.
