Junior Alexander Guy was given the old cell phone number of George Zimmerman (pictured) after Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin
The moment Junior Alexander Guy activated his very first cell phone, calls started rolling in.
He was threatened, harassed and accused of murder at all hours of the day and night, according to the Orlando Sun-Sentinel.
"You deserve to die," the callers would say. "You murderer!"
Turns out that T-Mobile had given Guy the cell phone number formerly used by George Zimmerman -- the man who in February shot and killed Trayvon Martin in Florida.
When Zimmerman's 911 tape was released, so was his number: 407-435-2400. Zimmerman got rid of the number and it was given to 49-year-old Guy, who got his first cell phone on May 7, Newscore reported.
Guy received about 70 threatening calls between the 7th and the 16th, when he turned the phone over to a lawyer and demanded compensation from T-Mobile. But the cell company refused, saying that Guy was provided with a new number and credit toward his bill.
T-Mobile then retired Zimmerman's old cell phone number so nobody else would be threatened.
Zimmerman, 28, was charged with murder after he shot and killed 17-year-old Martin, who was unarmed during the Feb. 26 incident. He claims the shooting was in self defense and pleaded not guilty. His bond was recently revoked and he has returned to jail.
The killing of Martin sparked a national uproar over Zimmerman, the responsibilities of a neighborhood watch volunteer, and race.

People sure are stupid, why didn't they discard that number-get rid of it--- Funny how people know how to sue. One million dollars to smooth it over. Trayvon after all the details did what he should not have done. Always seems to be the white mans fault and if any white says anything today you are racists. Blacks are the racists at least white will be on a black persons side if they know are innocent but not the othe way around.

The concept of a phone number is a vestige of the 19th and early 20th century technology used to initially implement telephone service.
In the 21st century, there is no phone.
What you think of as a phone is actually a peripheral to a computer. It hasn't been a phone for years. The limitations of a phone number, the busy signal, call waiting, call forwarding, the answering machine - they are all computer interfaces emulating the behavior of technology from before the 80's.
That peripheral you think of as a phone is just an interface; half software.
Our identifier could be a personal URL. We need not dial a number, we could just as easily dial someone with "cell.myname.person", or "home.myname.person", a personal identifier that could follow us to whatever provider, state or location in the world we care to be.
The phone is just a way of accessing data. The data happens to conveniently converted between audio and data, streamed live. It's routed the same as your web page (there are little technical differences, but in reality they are minor).
At this point telephone, cable television, web content and email are all just data - the same data.
The concept of the phone number is a persistent illusion, probably because it continues to make money for the phone company and people beyond 3 decades of age still require the familiar interface they learned before the Internet went public.

Five fair and pertinent questions:
1) What information was George Zimmerman required to disclose that he didn’t disclose?
2) When and in what manner was he required to disclose whatever he was required to disclose but didn’t?
3) Which part of which statute contains the pertinent requirement?
4) What is the legal justification for Zimmerman’s incarceration?
5) If there is no legal justification for incarcerating Zimmerman, why is there no uproar about it?

First off stop trolling, this has nothing to do with this article. Second, he simply had his bond revoked because he lied about his finances. Plus! His team is the one that's delaying his next bond hearing! trolololol

So he lied about finances, doesn't make him a murderer. They settled happy with a million bucks. Could you see white folk gathering by the thousands to walk the streets in protest. Maybe that is what needs to be done.
The blacks need to do that in the neighborhoods of Dade county. They are afraid

He couldv'e changed his phone number with a simple call from his phone to 611.
Or gone to any T-Mobile store and made someone else make that call for him.
T-Mobile owes him nothing but a new number.
Foxrockets: He couldv'e changed his phone number with a simple call
Yes, you can get it changed, but T-mobile should have done what they did after...retire the number. I'd say give the guy free service for a year or allow him out of his contract with no pentalty.
Shanda_Smalls: Yes, you can get it changed, but T-mobile should have
I'd recommend educating yourself on what a "false equivalence" is.
The people responsible for this murder were immediately arrested, following an immediate manhunt. The will, presumably, be charged with murder, and most likely convicted, if this story is accurate.
Where's the need for outrage? This is an example of the system WORKING.
AwkwardSilence: I'd recommend educating yourself on what a "false equivalence" is.
What planet do these people grow up on? Not only are threatening phone calls illegal, they are rude, useless, and ignorant. I hope the calls were at least traced, and the perps charged.

The phone number doesn't belong to GZ anymore. Therefore, the threats never reached him. He's been in hiding and now he's in jail. Since the recipient of the threatening calls doesn't know GZ, the perps can't reach him anyway.

This just gets messier and messier, doesn't it? I wonder if Zimmy ever thinks "gee, maybe I should have just minded my own business" or if he smirks with glee at the mayhem he's caused.
