The Vintage Bazaar, Chicago Pop-Up Vintage Market, Makes Its Aragon Ballroom Debut

Vintage Bazaar Holds First Summer Market Sunday

Though your weekend is already long on fantastic festivals and tragically short on hours during which to partake in them, the Vintage Bazaar's first summer pop-up market at its new North Side home is yet another Chicago event to pencil into your calendar.

The Vintage Bazaar is a new twist on the old flea market model produced by Katherine Raz and Libby Alexander and founded in 2010. In its short history, its already made a big splash with its pop-up markets at venues including the Congress Theater, the Empty Bottle and the DANK Haus. And this year, their wildly popular event makes the move to the historic and immense Aragon Ballroom in the city's Uptown neighborhood.

Sunday marks the first of the bazaar's summer series, which will continue through September with markets popping up every second Sunday.

In addition to vintage furniture, decor, clothing, jewelry and more from some 150+ vendors, the market will also feature jams from CHIRP, beverages from Bow Truss Coffee Roasters, local food vendors, beer and cocktails and even a pop-up barbershop courtesy of Joe's Barbershop. History buff Albert Walavich will also be on hand offering architectural tours of the Aragon. Racked has a complete vendor list.

As Flavorpill described, "expect all the crate-digging finds of any sprawling flea market with a bit more ease and a few less fleas." This is an event any vintage fiend won't want to miss out on.

The Vintage Bazaar will be held Sunday, June 10, from noon-5 p.m. at the Aragon Ballroom, 1106 W. Lawrence Ave. Admission is $5 and children 12 and under -- plus shoppers who bring their cat on a leash -- are free.
