Dustin Brown wasn't at a total loss for words after the L.A. Kings clinched the first Stanley Cup in franchise history by finishing off the Devils in Game 6. But NBC might have preferred if the Kings' captain had been.
Asked by NBC's Pierre McGuire if he thought he would ever have a chance to win the Cup, Brown gave a brutally honest answer that would surely have made Herm Edwards proud.
"That's why we f***ing play."
Brown, who scored the first goal of Los Angeles' 6-1 beatdown of the Devils, became only the second U.S. born captain to ever win the Stanley Cup.
Now we'll wait and see if he gets fined. Whether he cares is a separate issue.
