That is divisive leadership and completely against basic supervisory skills, let alone Potus! Bush had his faults but his faults were given to him when dems took control o the house and senate. I would not vote for Jeb for anything, but he is just about saying what I have been saying all along!!!!!!!. from abe lincoln and before him, all the up to the old man bush and reagan, even the younger bush was not as bad as these "new breed".......republicians. these are not the republicians we voted for before, the republicians today are NOT republicians!!!!!!. republician voters will you listen to jeb it is not just me,.. he is not saying in so many words, but it is there. todays gop/teaparty is .......DANGEROUS, They will do anything to get elected, lie,cheat, purge voters,that is legal voters, ......I am afraid they would even kill someone,if they have'nt already. do not vote these people in vote them .....OUT!!!!!.

Jeb's right on this one. Most of the moderate Republicans I know are shrinking in horror at the extremism that has taken over presidential politics in this country.

The real problem, though - the slimy thing under the proverbial rock, isn't the rank and file GOP - even the extreme base.

No - that slimy thing is Grover Norquist. To force Republicans to pledge no new taxes under any circumstances causes them to break their oaths of office because they can no longer fulfill their responsibilities under Section 8 of the Constitution. And, the idea that government is bad, it is the enemy and needs to be gotten small enough so people like Grover can 'drown it in a bathtub' helps us how?

The government is NOT the enemy. It is the big corporate money that has taken over electoral politics. Wells Fargo has paid no taxes in 2008-2010 on billions in profits, yet has given millions to these Senators and Representatives to be elected. That's what stinks here. This is OUR government, that WE pay for with OUR taxes, yet it has been hijacked by big business so that instead of helping us, our government funnels our money directly to corporate profits for Wall Street and the military industrial complex.

The whole reason Karl Rove agrees to work for Mitt Romney was so he could sabotage his campaign from the inside at the end to keep the Republican nomination open for Jeb Bush to run for in 2016 -- in which they hope eight years will be long enough away from the failed Presidency of George W. Bush.

Yes, the plan devised by GOP leaders on the eve of the Presidents inauguration is working perfectly. Confusion and absolute obstruction have done their jobs. McConnell should be proud. Were it my authority to do so, I would bring the whole bag full of them up on charges of sedition and treason.

Jeb Bush may be moaning and groaning about the current state of the Republican party, but he helped create this situation with his unnecessary and unwelcome intervention in the Terri Schiavo situation. For those who have forgotten, Terri Schiavo was in an irreversible coma, and her husband wanted to turn off the machines that were keeping her alive, because he didn't believe she would have wanted to exist (as opposed to live) that way. Her family opposed this and Jeb came riding to their rescue along with the Florida legislature, Congress, and good old GWB! A series of federal judicial rulings reversed the Bushes, et. al. and Ms. Schiavo was allowed to pass away peacefully. Even if Jeb hadn't interfered with the 2000 presidential election (which he absolutely did!) I still wouldn't believe anything he said after the Schiavo fiasco!

I find it the height of hypocrisy that Jeb Bush would say these things. He was instrumental in helping drive the party to the far right. He meddled in Florida election politics to put his brother in office, and Karl Rove was at the helm of W's campaign (which he supported of course) and Rove is one of the key reasons the party is so far to the right.

While his statements may be an accurate observation, I don't think he really believes that. He has never demonstrated any kind of willingness to work with the other side himself, and I see this solely as a the unveiling of a new tactic for 2016.

Feel free not to have any love for the Bush's. But Bush 43 wasn't an extremist on the same types of things the Tea Party is. Don't take that comment as love for Iraq, just that Bush wasn't in line with the TP on issues like immigration, bailouts (since he did it in 2008), Kenyan conspiracies, etc.

It was the advent of the Tea Party that brought in the current environment. All because President Obama took the Republican Health Care system from Romney and applied it to the USA. We are the only industrialized country in the world that does not have some form of universal health care. Yet President Obama did the centrist thing and went with Obamacare instead of single payer healthcare. They cant even hate him right.
