Mormonism an asset?!? I don't think so. Just look at how those F-heads have already ruined Utah.

The only people who should find Mitt's Mormonism an asset are other Mormons. The rest of the country should think of this as a disqualification to be President.

Shouldn't his Mormon faith have informed him that it was not in keeping with fairness for him to walk away from Ampad with $100 million in profit while the workers who built that wealth lost their jobs, their pension and got absolute ZERO? Is that what Jesus would have done?

As one fairly familiar with the LDS church as well as the history of the Romney family, I'm much less concerned about Mitt's relation with the Church as I am the physchological scars he bears of his branch of the family's past.

Because the cult that's sometimes called a church spends millions of dollars on politics?

So does that mean that if he is elected, we will all be forced to store 2 years of food supplies per the Mormon doctrine? Will we be forced to begin baptizing non-mormons after death? Sorry, but there are alot of Mormon doctrines that Romney should enforce, because he is supposedly a high ranking official in the church and if he does not conform, then he is not really a supporting Mormon. Nobody thinks of this. He is either going to sacrifice his religion, or force it upon us. That is the only choices he has as a devout Mormon, unless he is just a Mormon in sheeps clothing.

One thing for sure the Mormons have lots of money...Plus they don't like the United States...Check out the Mormon War of 1857...and at one time they had more Winchesters than the U.S. Govt...I'd trust these people about as far as I can bounce an anvil in a swamp.

In fact inspite of the incident you cite -- and I grew up in the neighborhood built where the Union cannons were place -- I've rarely met people who were so allied to the United States as I have the LDS. You over look the Mormon Batallion during the Civil War.

I think that Romney believes that he is the chosen one. Mormons can ask for a Patriarchal Blessing. This is given by a patriarch of the church. He lays his hands upon the head of the person and through revelation from the Lord, gives what amounts to a fortune tellers reading. The blessing is tape recorded and later written down and sent to the person, a second copy is sent to church headquarters. One of the important parts of this blessing is to tell the person which of the twelve tribes of Israel they are descended from. Apparently, Mitt was told in his that he was destined for great things.

David Frum's article is a load of clap trap. This is just another attempt to sanitize Mormonism for Romney's political gain. For those who would like to know all about what happens in Mormon Temples, google: Mormon Temple Rituals by Richard Packham. It's an accurate account of the ceremonies.

Listen I have many Mormon relatives, I live in the second highest count Mormon state other then Utah, I myself was babtized LDS at 12 (against my will), and dumped the religion as quickly as I could, people should truly read up on this religion, trust me it will be an eye opener. And dear old Elder Mitt is a member of a cult, period.
