A 13-year-old boy reported his mother's alleged murder in a chilling 911 call released by authorities in Ohio this week.
"My dad just killed my mom. He just told me to call you guys," the boy explained to a Grove City police dispatcher on Sunday. "He just ran outside and killed my mom. And she's laying in the grass in front of the apartment."
The boy's father, Jeremy Roberts, told police that he used "only" a knife to carry out the alleged murder of his ex-wife, 38-year-old Candice Roberts, according to the audio. When officers arrived on the scene shortly after 9 a.m., they found the victim "in a grassy area... deceased from apparent stab wounds," according to a press release.
In the 911 recording, Roberts addresses the dispatcher in an even tone while saying that he loves his children.
"What did you do?" the dispatcher asks the suspect.
"She's covered in a blanket. You guys will see," Roberts replied.

Roberts, 36, calmly tells the dispatcher that he "means nobody else in the world any harm." He's overheard telling his children that they have a "good big sister [who] will take care of you guys."
"I told you that there's a lot of things that you don't understand, and you don't know," Roberts can be heard saying to his children. "And now there's no choice but for them to come out."
According to Roberts' 16-year-old daughter, her brother is haunted by the experience, CNN reported.
"My brother says that every time he opens his eyes, he sees my mother's face and her yelling, 'Help me!' " the teenager said. "And he sees my dad standing there with the blood all over him, and the knife in his hand."
Roberts has three children, ages 16, 13 and 4.
He will be charged with murder, according to police.
