Adam Sandler Reveals A Joke He Used During His 'Saturday Night Live' Audition On 'Late Show' (VIDEO)

Adam Sandler Reveals A Joke He Did For His 'SNL' Audition

Adam Sandler was on "Late Show" (Weeknights, 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS), chatting about his newest movie "That's My Boy" with David Letterman. But the conversation drifted back to "Saturday Night Live" as it so often does with that show's alumni.

Sandler tried to recall some of the bits he did that may have got him his big "SNL" break. He remembered one short joke that he had been using in his sets during that time. It was a rather simple and silly joke about his mom rubbing Vick's VapoRub on his chest when he was a boy.

In the joke, he said to his mother, "Mom, I thought we were just good friends."

Obviously, it's as much in the delivery of the material as in the jokes themselves. Sandler has a singular presence that's very unique, alternating from sweet and seemingly harmless to violently angry at the drop of a hat. He's certainly come a long way since VapoRub.

Adam Sandler stars in "That's My Boy," opening in theaters nationwide on Friday, June 15. David Letterman stars on "Late Show," airing weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
