Have a rough week? We dare you to look at this pile of adorable puppies, and then let us know how you're feeling.

This week, a group of five Terrier mix pups are just a handful of the crew of local cats, dogs and rabbits up for adoption at a variety of shelters located throughout the Chicago area. To our knowledge, they've all been spayed or neutered and are up to date with their vaccinations.

If you wish to support these shelters and the incredible work they're doing, the Rockit Burger Bar, 3700 N. Clark, next Wednesday will host a "Dog Days Of Summer" fashion show benefiting one of HuffPost's shelter partners, PAWS, on its dog-friendly patio. The event will be hosted by Corri McFadden of VH1’s House of Consignment."

If this slideshow doesn't satisfy your cute animal fix, be sure to check out past features linked below the gallery either by scrolling down or clicking here. Many of the previously featured animals remain homeless.
