The producers of Life of Pi, based on Yann Martel's Booker Prize-winning book, are certainly giving the movie a big build up.

Following the release of (admittedly stunning) images, the first footage, a mere 11 seconds, has made it online.

The movie, filmed in 3D by Oscar-winning director Ang Lee, is due out this Christmas, competing with other big-name book adaptations The Great Gatsby and part one of The Hobbit.

We only get a few glimpses of the tiger and of the young Pi (Suraj Sharma, in his first major role), but our first impressions are that, for a CGI tiger, it's certainly pretty ferocious. We're also getting pretty excited about this one. What do you think?
