Makeover Video: A Firefighter Trades In Her No-Makeup Look For Day-To-Night Glamour

This Firefighter Won't Look This Way For Long...

When faced with a workday, many of us have mastered our makeup routine where we can "put our face on" in 20 minutes or less. But what if your workday involves battling fires instead of full inboxes? A made-up face is just not on the "to do" list.

That was just the case with Kinga Mielnik, a New York City firefighter. Kinga's day-to-day look involved little more than lip balm. (Actually, it was just that.) Though she didn't want to deal with heavy makeup every day, she craved a little more color. And, she wanted to see how she could take her look into night.

So, how do you turn up the style without caking on product -- all without wasting a second of time? Makeup artist Rebecca Shaw knew just what to do. First, she darkened Kinga's brows with a pencil. Then, she applied a tinted lip gloss. These little changes helped define Kinga's face and took less than a minute to apply.

To take Kinga's look into the night, Rebecca applied blush to the top of the cheekbones, then added red lipstick. The result? A simplified take on evening makeup.

In just a few steps (and a few products), Kinga now has the tools and the tricks to update her look in a way that still feels appropriate for her workplace -- check out Kinga's transformation above.
