'MasterChef': Gordon Ramsay Offers Tough Love And Encouragement To Blind Contestant (VIDEO)

'MasterChef': Ramsay Tough But Encouraging To Blind Contestant

For the first team challenge of the new season on "MasterChef" (Mon., 9 p.m. ET on Fox), the contestants had to cook for the U.S. Marines. With two hours to make their dishes, the Blue Team went Italian, while the Red Team took a risk that they could prepare pork chops in time.

Despite some raw meat going out to the service men from the Red Team, the final vote came down to the Marines, and they went with the Red Team's barbecue pork chops. As team captain, Frank didn't have to cook in the Pressure Test, and he was able to free one other person. After a few people rejected the offer, Stacey finally accepted a free pass into the next week.

The Pressure Test was apple pie, which immediately put blind contestant Christine on edge. Unable to see the color of her crust, she became certain that she was going to go home. But despite her misgivings, only her pie and Frank's pie got rave reviews from the judges.

Gordon Ramsay pushed her to believe in herself when telling her that her dish both looked and tasted wonderful. She wasn't even in danger. Instead, it came down to Michael and Scott, with Michael having to say his goodbyes.
